Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for extremely dry hands. Love the scent. I have really dry hands, especially in winter, and it only takes a tiny amount to soothe my chapped skin. It feels great! It is a bit greasy at first but gets absorbed pretty quickly. I'm actually pretty surprised about some of the strong reviews against the fragrance. I would describe the scent as a bit herbal/medicinal and I absolutely love it. It's nice to breathe it in, kind of relaxing. I suppose it's just hit or miss for some people.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Just no I just purchased this product from a local store and it is no good. When I first opened it a lot of clear liquid poured out and got all over me, my clothes, and the floor and it just smelled like pure rubbing alcohol. Now that I’m taking a second look, the box is covered in oil stains as well. Now that all of that liquid is out, it doesn’t matter how hard I squeeze the tube, I can’t get the rock solid mass of whatever is in there to come out. Whatever is in there that won’t come out smells aweful so maybe it’s good that I can’t get it out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magical for dry, cracked, bleeding hands It smells a little funky (kind of a medicinal herbal-y smell) but it's really not that bad and fades quickly. Also takes a few minutes to absorb. And yet I still rate this 5 stars - that's how amazing this cream is.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Terrible smell.. needs to be reformulated asap I just bought this for the first time, and am returning it tomorrow. The smell is so bad.. and it lingers for a long, long time. I don't care if this hand cream works or not; ...the fragrance burns my eyes and doesn't smell remotely like shea butter. This product needs to either be reformulated or discontinued. I liked the feel of the cream; it has a whipped texture to it. But the smell is just horrific.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best ever I discovered this hand creame while in Ireland, absolutely love it, love the scent, you do have to wait a bit for it to soak in but worth it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Smells TERRIBLE My dad picked this up for half-off at a local pharmacy that’s going out of business. I was excited to try it, but it smells so bad I’m never going to be able to use it again! It smells sort of like frankincense, but also chemical-y and way too strong and just really, really bad. The texture is nice, and very thick, and I wish I could love this stuff, but the smell is so strong and awful that this is going straight in the trash.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The smell is unbearable I'm giving it 3 stars because it smells SO bad, like very heavy smelly dust. It is thick and it absorbs quite fast without leaving a sticky residue, and I live in Dubai so it is HOT and humid! But can we PLEASE fix the smell? This is the only reason why I hesitate to use it, but I absolutely LOVE the ingredients and 99.9% natural factor! I bought the travel size to try it and I am not sure if I want to buy the full sized one after this smell. I really want to use this hand cream, but I also want to either enjoy the smell or not smell anything. Burts Bees Marketing, listen to the consumer reviews and fix it please :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific for rough hands & smell dissipates :) I purchased this in a grocery store, can no longer find it, so came here to see if it was still made. I saw the reviews carrying on about the smell and thought I had a duty to speak up! I'm very sensitive to smells and this hand cream does have a strong smell, kind of along the line of patchouli or a muscle rub, the former which I love and the latter which I hate. That said, the smell does not last long and the real question is how badly do you want heal your hands? While my own get rough enough, my significant other's hands, whose hands get like sandpaper from working on mechanical things and being outdoors a lot, had amazing improvement after just one application. He, too, mentioned the smell but, like I said, it dissipates and the cream works better than any other hand cream we've ever tried. We both love it. While it's thick and heavy, if you just keep rubbing it in for a couple of minutes it absorbs into the skin very well. Bottom line: There are lots of girly smelling, lighter hand lotions on the market that are good for a couple of hours and don't make much of difference in terms of healing. I don't want to keep re-applying lotion all day long and this product could heal the hands of an auto mechanic and even stands up to one or two hand washings after application! If your hands are cracked and dry and you want to heal them, I highly recommend this stuff, smell notwithstanding (and you may even like it, lol).
